Bringing the party to your home
Cupcake war parties
Cupcake Wars is always a fan favorite and the guests are busy for the full 2 hours. The party size can be 6-25 guests. The guests are broken up into 3-5 teams with 3-5 people per team. Each team makes 1 dozen colorful cupcakes from scratch. When the cupcakes are baking, the guests make and dye the frosting. Usually after one hour of working, they are able to break for Pizza/food and Birthday cake. This gives the cupcakes a chance to cool down. When the cupcakes are cooled, they are decorated with over 75 decorations that Chef Amy brings (this includes fondant, sugars, and all edible decorations). The teams then pick their best cupcakes to be judged and there are 3-5 categories so each team actually can win. The guest can take the cupcakes home in cupcake boxes, which she provides. Chef Amy is there to run the party and assist them.
chopped style parties
The guests are placed in 3-4 teams. The teams are given 3 baskets. One for appetizers, one for Main course with a side dish and one for desserts. Each basket will have different ingredients, one being a Zinger ingredient. They will use their creativity in making a dish that contains all the ingredients given in the basket. There is always a “Pantry” of vegetables, eggs, flour, spices, etc. for them to use in addition to the basket ingredients. Each team is required to make an appetizer, main course and dessert. (This way each team can win one of the categories, as there are no “Chopped” teams. We want the guests to remain in the game the whole party so they are always engaged). As there are a lot of people in the kitchen, we have to keep the cutting with knives in a safe area, keep cooking on the stove top to a minimum. We want a fun party without any injuries. All the dishes require some type of cooking, mixing, chopping etc
The party is 2 hours and they will need time to prep, cook and clean up after each dish. Usually 20 minute for appetizer, 30-40 min for main and 20 for dessert. After each meal is prepared, they are judged but the winners are not announced. After they finish the desserts, they then all can eat their creations, we can announce the winners of each category and then have birthday cake.
OTHER FUN BIRTHDAY IDEAS
Chocolate Melting, Molding & Decorating party
This is always a fan favorite. I bring approximately 8 different colors of melted chocolate and over 75 different molds. The guests pour the many colored melted chocolate into the molds and then they set in the refrigerator. When the molds are setting they then make chocolate fondue and dip fruit, pretzels, cookies etc in chocolate. They can then make chocolate s’mores. Then they can take their chocolate molds that have set and decorate them with the many decorations that I bring. The guests are busy for the 1.5 hours.
Pizza Making & Stacked Milkshake Parties
The guest will all be given a piece of pizza dough that they will roll out and cut into different cookie cutter shapes or a round pizza. Then they will add the homemade sauce and cheese and then it goes into the oven. While the pizza is baking, the guests will decorate their Ice Cream Sunday cups with frosting and sprinkles, cookies, pretzels etc. They will make molded chocolate pops to put and stack along the milkshake, They will make fondant flowers or animals to continue the stacking process. They will make a cake pops to add to the milkshake. They will then eat the pizza when it comes out of the oven. Then they will make the milkshake and pour into their decorated cup and start stacking and eating. The party will last for 1.5 hours.
ADULT COOKING PARTIES
The host will pick the menu for dinner. When the guests arrive, they will be interactive in preparing, chopping, sauteing and plating the dishes of the evening. Everyone will have a great time and participate in the whole meal. Usually the cooking party consists of creatingan appetizer, main course, side dish and dessert. You can swap an appetizer for a fun salad as well.
The party generally lasts 2 hours. The cost of the party would include the food, full set up and clean up(there are some up charges for certain proteins). Chef Amy will not provide the alcohol and the party can be from 4-10 guests.
Chef Amy can also make a charcuterie board or a hummus and Mediterranean board for an additional fee. This way your guests have something to eat the moment they come to your house. She can also send a list of some fan favorites and together with Chef Amy, can come up with a great menu for you and your guests!
